Camera newbie

I have absolutely NO idea what I am doing with this new camera of mine, I seriously need some quality reading/learning time. Or an awesome teacher! Anyway, here are a few shots I have taken over the weekend.

It wouldn't matter which camera I point at these beauties, they will always look amazing.

Home made Finnish butter buns. Recipe coming soon.

Home made vegetable & blue cheese tart, recipe inspired by and adapted from the Nordic Bakery Cookbook.

I get the feeling the dog will feature in a lot of my trial photos. In this one he is wearing a beanie. Isn't he special?

I was a bit disheartened that I didn't get the settings right in this shot. This bird and his buddies perch themselves up in a tree in our front yard and crack open little seeds on the branches and eat the inside. The floor is covered in the half eaten seeds and they make quite a racket. This would have made a beautiful shot if I knew how to adjust the settings prior. If you click on the image you will see his claw holding the seeds to his beak.

Part of my holiday excitement was heightened when I realised I will be able to partake in the Ten on Ten photo project in October. It takes place every month on the tenth and requires you to take a photo every hour on the hour for ten hours. I have not been able to join in as yet as I have worked on the tenth of the past few months, hourly photos of my office would be very yawn-inducing indeed. I can't wait! I have a week to brush up on my camera skills. This feels a bit like cramming for an exam in high school, only much MUCH, more fun!
I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

  1. Oh all the photos are lovely Peggy, but I do understand what it's like to get to know a new camera, just takes a bit of confidence.

  4. You would not call that dog a guard dog, seriously Pegs, with a beanie on his head he looks more like a sleepy dog.

  6. Mum, he wouldn't scare anyone but himself with that face and beanie on his head!! He is a silly puppy, I can't believe he sat there with that on his head! That is his own beanie by the way, he stole it out of a box of stuff I had cleared out when we first got him. Maybe that's why he wore it!

  8. Oh I love your dog! The look on her face says it all!

P.s I've been having troubles leaving comments on you blog lately (am using I phone atm). I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but just thought I'd check in case you've changed your settings?

  9. Thanks Teresa, our hound brings us hours of laughs and smiles that's for sure!

My Mum also said she has had problems leaving comments and I notice it is since I removed the word verification, so I have added it back in again. Hopefully the issue will disappear. If not let me know and I will contact blogspot. Thanks for letting me know. :)
